Welcome to the West Midlands Tech Awards 2018

BirminghamLive and CoventryLive will be coming together in October to celebrate the people, businesses and organisations who are using digital innovation to drive positive change for the regional economy and its people.

The awards will recognise everything from pure-play digital start ups to traditional firms using digital innovation to transform their businesses. It will also highlight the use of digital technologies to find new ways to deliver public services and the artists, creatives and musicians using digital approaches to enhance the life and culture of the region.

The awards are open to individuals and companies based in or connected to Birmingham, Coventry, Warwickshire, the Black Country, Solihull and South Staffordshire. Nominations close on Friday 17th August.

The Awards

The awards will allow relatively mature companies to show off their work as well as highlight the important embryonic work being carried out by imaginative companies and individuals. You may enter as many categories as you wish and multiple entries are permitted for different projects.

From engaging social media to industry-leading hardware, the awards will mark the achievements which are helping push the boundaries in the digital landscape whilst ensuring our nation remains competitive and in-tune with global and national trends. The West Midlands is already emerging as a hub for digital excellence. Hosted at the ICC, this event will catch that wave of excellence and celebrate the remarkable achievements in our business community and beyond.

Georgie Barrat is a leading technology journalist and broadcaster. Presenter of The Gadget Show, she is a regular writer for The Mirror, Tech City News and The Huffington Post. A lover of all things tech, Georgie is devoted to getting more girls into STEM careers, and to helping businesses to understand millennials.

Georgie is also ITV’s Weekend tech expert, making regular appearances on Channel 5’s The Saturday Show to comment on the latest tech stories.

Previously, Georgie co-presented alongside Matthew Wright on Channel 5's 'The Wright Stuff' and is regularly called upon to be a tech talking head on London Live.
